Last week Costa Rica had 32 cases of Zika, a virus largely concentrated in Jacó. Now, that figure has doubled since there are 60 people infected in country.
According to the director of the vector program of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Rodrigo Marin, Garabito reported 44 cases, and now there is a new one in Parrita, a location where dengue already had health authorities busy.
In addition, Costa Rica has 6,746 cases of Dengue and 1,420 cases of chikungunya, and despite all efforts, there are still 13,117 potential mosquito breeding areas.
