The Government reported that Costa Ricans and foreigners can enjoy the tourist attractions of the country without worrying about the Zika virus. The statement is given days before the start of the high season for the tourism sector.
According to the Ministry of Health, the beginning of the dry season helps lower the spread of this virus. In addition, they have worked hand in hand with the tourism sector and coastal municipalities to maximize protective measures.
In the coming days, the peak season of tourism industry will begin and we are confident that, if we follow the recommendations of the Health authorities, we will have a more success than in previous years,”
said Tourism Minister Mauricio Ventura.
Both the Ministry of Health and the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) have called for strengthening the removal and cleaning of breeding sites.
